This is another painting that I started at the same time as the painting with the dog, and has kind of taken a backseat compared to the other piece, but It's also going to be rendered in a different style. What excites me about this painting so far is the color, and the way that the red pops off the blue sky and orange wall.

painting update 1
This is one of the large paintings I've been working on when I have spare time for quite a while now, and it is becoming quite a learning process. But I've learned a lot from this painting about detail, color and paint application (and the need to just push paint around sometimes) and I'm really excited to finish it. I think I mentioned it in a previous post, but it's one of the most complicated figurative paintings I've worked on to date, and I'm really excited about the way it's turning out, especially with the rendering on the hands and dog.
website launch
My website, www.lizkerner.com, is finally up and running! It took a little while, but now that it's up, it's really exciting for me to have a professional way to showcase my work. Finishing everything up in Dreamweaver was great and Joel and Jake really helped me with the last couple questions I had about making everything work. I really appreciated their help.
